AI Engineering Intern
Internship2–3 months
Apply for this roleAbout the role
We are changing how the construction industry estimates its work. Our engine carries a full set of project design documents end to end to a finished estimate, using the reasoning and vision capability of frontier models.
We are looking for an ambitious, self-driven full-stack intern who can harness AI to build this capability with us, at speed. You will own the layer between our engine and the clients who use it: the interface, the connection to the backend, security, and getting it running reliably on a server. You will also work on the AI engine itself, improving what it produces and closing the gaps we find.
Expect to build and research in the same breath. Much of what this needs is new, and choosing the right tool for it is part of the job. You will build a product that actual clients use.
Where we are
A small team working where civil engineering practice meets applied AI. The problem we have taken on is still done entirely by hand: weeks of skilled effort on every project, and an error in it is expensive.
The proof of concept is complete and validated with industry experts. What we are building now is the production-grade product around it: the frontend, the backend, and security. Then taking it to market.
You'll fit if
- You can build a web application end to end, with JavaScript/TypeScript and a modern framework on one side and Python on the other.
- You use AI coding tools seriously (Claude Code, agents, MCP) and have opinions about where they help and where they don't.
- You understand AI fundamentals: how LLMs and VLMs work, prompting, context and tokens, retrieval (RAG), and why model outputs need to be constrained and verified.
- You have deployed something to a server, not just to your laptop. Linux, Docker, DNS and certificates don't scare you.
- You are self-directed. We will tell you what needs to exist; you figure out how to build it, and ask when you are genuinely stuck.
Bonus, not required: you have built a project that made it past the demo and into the hands of real users.
What you get
- End-to-end learning in applied AI: how these systems are actually built, evaluated, secured and shipped, on the newest models and tooling.
- Direct work with tenured product managers in the AI space, and a whole visible piece of the product to own.
- A fully remote internship.
Stipend: ₹20,000 to ₹30,000 per month, based on performance.
Location
Remote. You can also work from the Ahmedabad office of our partner firm, CASAD Consultants, if you prefer.
How to apply
Email tectonicagents@gmail.com with your CV and one thing you have built. A link beats a description.
